St Annes Old Links Golf Club – A Championship Course with Historic Prestige
At St Annes Old Links, we take pride in offering a 6907-yard, Par 72 Championship Links course. Founded in 1901, our course is one of the finest in England’s north-west coast and has built a reputation as a prestigious venue for golfers of all abilities.
We have had the honor of hosting Final Qualifying for The Open on several occasions, including 2018 to 2022, and have also been a qualifying venue for the Women’s British Open and Senior Open. In 2022, we co-hosted The Amateur Championship alongside our neighbors, Royal Lytham & St Annes.
St Annes Old Links is regularly ranked among the Top 100 courses in England by leading publications like Golf World, Today’s Golfer, and National Club Golfer. Our signature 9th hole is particularly renowned, having been voted by Golf World as the Top 9th Hole in Great Britain. As the great Bobby Jones once said, “It’s difficult to see how you could improve on this.”

Lytham Green Drive Golf Club – A Hidden Gem on the Fylde Coast
Located in the stunning seaside resort of Lytham, on the Fylde Coast, Lytham Green Drive Golf Club is part of England’s renowned “Golf Coast”, home to 20 of the UK’s most acclaimed golf courses. Founded in 1913, this parkland course offers a welcoming and relaxed environment for golfers of all abilities.
Lytham Green Drive Golf Club has proudly hosted Open qualifying events in 1974, 1979, and 1988. The course is an easy walk with no strenuous hills, making it ideal for golfers of all levels. For added convenience, buggies and pull trolleys are available for hire. The course offers a challenge for the more adventurous player but also provides opportunities for less experienced golfers to enjoy their round.
Refuel during your game with a stop at the Half-Way House, stocked with a selection of hot and cold drinks and quick snacks, helping you power through the back nine.

Welcome to Staining Lodge Golf Course
Nestled in 160 acres of the beautiful Fylde countryside, Staining Lodge Golf Course is an 18-hole, par 72 course offering a peaceful rural setting with stunning views stretching all the way to the Pennines. Despite its tranquil location, it’s just a 10-minute drive from Blackpool, Lytham St Annes, Poulton Le Fylde, and Kirkham, making it easily accessible for golfers of all levels.
Staining Lodge is a pay-and-play course that welcomes both casual golfers and those with memberships or golf contracts. It’s ideal for beginners and weekend golfers, but with its four par 5s, it also provides a challenge for more experienced players.
The course is rarely closed due to weather, ensuring you can enjoy your game year-round. With generous fairways, it’s a forgiving course for less experienced golfers, but still offers plenty of challenges for those seeking a test.
The bar/restaurant serves delicious food from 9am until 3:15pm, along with homemade cakes and drinks available until dusk, perfect for refueling after a round of golf.

Just 10 minutes from Crookdale Retreat, Knott End Golf Club offers a course with a stunning variety of landscapes, making it a must-visit for golfers of all levels.
The course is often described as “a course of two halves”. The first nine holes run alongside the Estuary, offering breathtaking views of the River Wyre. When the tide is in and the boats are sailing, teeing off on holes 1–5 is nothing short of spectacular. It’s hard to believe you’re just a few miles from the hustle and bustle of Blackpool.
The back nine takes you down into a picturesque valley, where tree-lined fairways lead to the course’s signature hole—a challenging feature that’s known to potentially ruin your scorecard, but adds to the excitement and thrill of the game.

Royal Liverpool Golf Club – A Historic Championship Course
A little further afield ( approx 1hour 44 mins from The Townhouse ) , Royal Liverpool Golf Club (Hoylake) is consistently ranked among the top golf courses in the UK. This legendary course has a rich history and a reputation for producing champions.
Hoylake’s layout is one of stark contrasts, with a mix of natural coastal holes nestled within sand dunes—many of which were redesigned in the 1930s by H.S. Colt—and a flatter inland stretch that still presents a formidable challenge. The opening hole, a demanding dogleg-right around internal out-of-bounds, is considered one of the toughest starts in links golf.
Once thought to be past its prime as a championship venue, Royal Liverpool has since hosted three Open Championships, including Tiger Woods’ famous win in 2006 and Rory McIlroy’s triumph in 2014. The course has a remarkable history of crowning the game’s greatest players, making it a must-visit destination for any golf enthusiast.
