Holidays can be expensive, but there are plenty of fantastic activities on the Fylde Coast that won’t break the bank. Whether you’re looking for family fun, scenic walks, or a bit of history, here’s a list of budget-friendly experiences to enjoy during your stay.

Classic Seaside Fun

Arcades & Amusements

Amusements can be pricey, but you can still have fun without spending a fortune! Take a couple of pounds in 2ps and try your luck at the penny falls. Make it a friendly competition—who can win the most tickets or prizes?

Blackpool’s Three Piers

Explore Blackpool’s historic piers for free!

• North Pier – A peaceful, nostalgic spot with a stunning view.

• Central Pier – A lively hub packed with fairground rides.

• South Pier – Adrenaline-fueled fun for thrill-seekers!

The Comedy Carpet

Located at the base of Blackpool Tower, this giant artwork is covered in classic jokes and catchphrases from the UK’s best comedians.

Outdoor Adventures

The Beach

A trip to the seaside isn’t complete without a beach day!

• Build sandcastles, paddle in the sea, or hunt for seashells.

• Bring a football, frisbee, or kite for added fun.

• Enjoy a relaxing snooze while the kids play!

Bike Rides

The Fylde Coast is beautifully flat, making it ideal for cycling. Ride along the promenade on the official Sustrans cycle path, which stretches from Lytham to Fleetwood.

Crabbing at Fleetwood

Head to the boating pools near Fleetwood Sea Cadet Base for some crabbing fun! Just bring a line, bait, and a bucket—remember to release the crabs gently and clean up after yourself.

Art Trails

• Blackpool’s New South Promenade – Ten stunning public art pieces between Squires Gate Lane and the Sandcastle Waterpark.

• Cleveleys Beach – Discover sculptures inspired by the Sea Swallow legend, including the iconic Mary’s Shell.

St Anne’s Sand Dunes & Nature Reserve

Explore the protected sand dunes at St Anne’s, a beautiful and peaceful spot for wildlife lovers.

Fairhaven Lake

A great place for a leisurely walk, a family picnic, or feeding the ducks. If you want to spend a little, you can hire boats or visit the RSPB Discovery Centre.

Watch a Sunset

The Fylde Coast is famous for its breathtaking sunsets. Top viewing spots include Blackpool North Shore, Cleveleys Beach, and Lytham Green.

• A boating lake

• Free outdoor sports facilities

Marine Hall Gardens, Fleetwood

Relax in these stunning gardens by the sea, with sculptures, flower beds, and plenty of space to unwind.

Entertainment on a Budget

Free Family Entertainment at Central Pier

Houndshill Shopping Centre’s Kids Club

Held on the first Saturday of every month (except December), this free event has a different theme each time—no need to book!

Money-Saving Tips

Pack a Picnic

Eating out can add up! Save money by packing a homemade picnic with all your favorite treats. Enjoy it at the park, on the beach, or even during a bike ride.

Budget-Friendly Ice Creams

Love an ice cream but don’t want to spend too much? Instead of buying expensive cones from the beachfront, grab a multipack from a local supermarket—it’s much cheaper!

Enjoy Your Stay!

No matter your budget, there’s plenty to see and do on the Fylde Coast without spending a fortune. Enjoy your holiday and make unforgettable memories!
