Bring Back the Great British Holiday

There’s something truly special about a British holiday. The excitement of packing up the car, filling every spare space with bags, snacks, buckets and spades, and setting off on a road trip to somewhere new. Singing songs along the way, playing eye spy until you’d run out of things to spy, and keeping everyone entertained with word games and laughter.

My children grew up with British holidays, and they absolutely loved them. Back then it was caravans, campsites, countryside adventures and seaside escapes. Every trip felt exciting. Some days were spent hiking through beautiful countryside, others walking along sandy beaches eating ice creams while the sun set over the sea. We’d discover hidden parks, little cafés, chocolate shops and places we’d never seen before.

But some of the best memories were always the evenings. After a day exploring, we’d head back to our accommodation for food, games and quality time together. Monopoly, Cluedo, cards, quizzes, karaoke — anything we could think of! The TV stayed off, phones were forgotten about, and instead we chatted, laughed, argued, and made memories we still talk about today.

And that’s exactly what we want to create here at Holiday Heim.

“Heim” means home, and that’s what we hope your holiday becomes — a home away from home where memories are made. Whether you’re enjoying beach walks along the Fylde Coast, countryside hikes, fish and chips by the sea, sunsets, sunrises, theme parks or cosy evenings of board games together, we want your stay to be about reconnecting with the people around you.

The Fylde Coast truly has something for everyone. From family adventures and dog walks to peaceful coastal mornings and lively seaside fun, it’s the perfect place to slow down, switch off from devices, and enjoy quality time together again.

So here’s to bringing back the great British holiday — making memories, discovering new adventures, and creating traditions you’ll want to return to year after year.
